The Museum of Fine Arts is one of the most comprehensive art museums in the world. The collection here encompasses nearly 450,000 works of art and they welcome more than one million visitors each year to experience art from ancient Egyptian to contemporary, special exhibitions, and innovative educational programs.
Boston Children’s Museum, is the second oldest children's museum in the United States and has been building innovative, meaningful, and fun exhibits for over 90 years.With an emphasis on hands-on learning through experiences exhibits are designed for children and families that have a focus on science, culture, environmental awareness, health & fitness, and the arts. The New England Aquarium, is a global leader in ocean exploration and marine conservation, combining educationand entertainment to educate about the most challenging problems facing the ocean. Located in the central open atrium of the main building, the principal feature of the Aquarium is the Giant Ocean Tank, a cylindrical tank that houses a Caribbean coral reef exhibit. Other exhibits include the Edge of the Sea tide, a pool which focuses on New England tide pool animal that visitors are allowed to touch, the Amazon Rainforest, the Gulf of Maine, the Pacific Reef Commnity, and others. There is also a harbor seal exhibit. All the New England Aquarium's marine mammals participate in daily training sessions that are open for public viewing and participation.
Museum of Science Along with over 500 interactive exhibits, the Museum features a number of live presentations throughout the building everyday, along with shows at the Charles Hayden Planetarium and the Mugar Omni IMAX theater.
Visit the Skywalk Observatory, on the 50th floor of the Prudential Tower. The Prudential Skywalk is a g place to view the Boston skyline with sweeping 360 degree views of Greater Boston and beyond. Follow the acoustiguide audio tour detailing the city's many points of historic and cultural interest. On a clear day you can see the beaches of Cape Cod to the south, or mountains in New Hampshire to the north. Great views can be seen of the Boston Public Library, Trinity Church, Fenway Park and the Charles River.
For over 130 years, the Swan Boats have graced the waters of the Boston Public Garden, the first botanical garden in the United States. The Swan Boats are the only boats of their kind in the world giving each passenger the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the 24 acres of the Public Garden.
Patriot Place, located in nearby Foxborough next to the New England Patriot's own Gillette Stadium, is an outdoor shopping, dining, and entertainment venue. Many events and live entertainment is held throughout the year.
