Hanover
History Buffs will love Hanover's close proximity to Plymouth, MA. Located approximately 15 miles from Hanover, Plymouth is one of the most well-known small towns in America and is known as America's hometown. Along the Plymouth waterfront area you will find Plimoth Plantation and the Mayflower II. These are both hands-on, living history museums featuring the experiences of the Native Wampanoag and the pilgrim colonists. Tour the Plantation, the Wampanoag Village, or the Mayflower II and interact with role-players in period costumes who will share personal accounts of their 1620's “lives” and experience for yourself what 17th century life was like. And, of course, no trip to Plymouth would be complete without a trip to the famous Plymouth Rock – landing place of the pilgrim colonists.
Shoppers will enjoy the Hanover Mall located on Washington Street in Hanover. With 70+ stores, you can find anything from fine jewelry to sporting goods. The Hanover Mall also has several restaurants located in the Mall or within close proximity.
Wine lovers might like to explore the family owned Plymouth Bay Winery located in the heart of the historic waterfront area of Plymouth, close to the Plimoth Plantation, Mayflower II, and many great dining spots. Plymouth Bay Winery produces cranberry and other fruit wines. They offer public tastings so be sure to visit, relax, and enjoy some of the local flavor.
Beaches abound in the Hanover area. Just a short drive from Hanover you can find a number of South Shore beaches including Duxbury Beach, Brant Rock Beach, Plymouth Beach and White Horse Beach. Explore and find the one you love.
